THE PROJECT MANAGER'S RESPONSIBILITIES

THE PROJECT MANAGER'S MISSIONS

Responsible for the synergy of available competencies, the project manager handles missions covering the whole of the localization process.

• Managing the flow of translation requests: confirming receipt, identifying, qualifying, organizing, planning competencies, availabilities and delivery deadlines
• Coordinating: expectations, requirements, availabilities and the actions of all participants and interveners
• Anticipating: locating and solving all potential problems relating to the source material (technical, semantic and factual errors, ambiguities and others)
• Preparing the localization: technical and linguistic information retrieval
• Supervising: analyzing contents, selecting terminology and phraseology, building glossaries, defining style guides
• Controlling: revising (spelling, grammar, syntax, style and terminology), simple or comparative proofreading, correcting and adapting, checking files throughout the various production phases
• Ensuring deliveries: localization delivered with original layout preserved, on the native support
• Post-production: creating a translation memory and a "post mortem" translation account
